Monster in My Head

October 19th, 2016

I decided to sleep under the stars. Big mistake. I woke up in screaming pain, with a loud buzzing in my ear. I couldn’t stand it. My scout master drove me down to the nearest hospital where the nurse took one look at my ear and told me they’d need to do an ear irrigation Manchester.

They sat me up, stuffed a tube in my ear and filled my head with fluids. The room spun, I threw up on the floor, and they did it again, and again, and again, until finally the doctor went in with a camera and a tiny vacuum.

“Oh, crap,” he sighed, “hold still.”

Five minutes later, the buzzing stopped, sound returned, and the doctor showed me a dead hornet.

Yes, sleeping under the stars was a big mistake in August. A hornet tried to make a home in my ear.

Why I Chose this Job

October 17th, 2016

I work as an events violinist and I spend my days playing music for a variety of events. There are days when I feel drained and I’m not sure I can do another performance and be a part of another events, and then there are days like yesterday. Yesterday I had a woman approach me at one of the events that I was playing at and she had tears falling down her face. She said that she is going through a hard time and that the peacefulness of my music really made her night. That woman’s comments reminded me of why I chose the job that I have. I believe in the power of music, and I know that my music can touch lives and it can help to make the world a better place. I can affect the way that an individual feels, and I love doing that.

Magic Device

October 16th, 2016

When my dog started to lose his hearing at the age of ten, I was very sad. He wasn’t responding to me like he used to in the past, I knew that it had to be because of old age. I also noticed that he was a little uneasy when I would rub around his ears.

I took my dog to the vet and I was advised that dogs can wear hearing aids Stockport. The vet took a mold of my dogs ear canal and then sent it to the lab to be manufactured. By the way, this is not a cheap device but the pet insurance that I carry covered some of the costs.

I will never forget the day the vet called me to bring my dog into the office to install the aid. It was like magic, the dog started wagging his tail immediately and was responding to me like he used to!

Part-time Model

October 14th, 2016

My friend used to be a model, and she did some side work as a bridal makeup artist Manchester for quite some time. She always said that if the modeling thing didn’t work out she would have something in the field to fall back on. Most people don’t have a backup plan, so even though she was by far beautiful enough to be more than a part-time model she spent more of her time perfecting her brush strokes on canvas and on faces. It suited her and she enjoyed it. She could turn a Plain Jane into a knockout in just a few minutes but she always hated doing her own. She said it just wasn’t the same. There’s art in making someone else beautiful, but when you do it to yourself it makes you raw because it exposes you to the fact that you needed it or wanted it to begin with.
